Perseid Meteor Shower

The stars are falling from the sky. Almost every night, I have seen them. I am fascinated by the Perseid Meteor Shower. It can be seen every year from mid July through August, mostly in the Northern Hemisphere. Did you know that it has been observed for over 2,000 years? Each year, the Earth passes through several small comet debris streams, which appears to us as a meteor shower. It is estimated that the Perseid stream could be as large as 50 million miles in diameter. We're coming close to saying goodbye to the Perseids for this year. In honor, I thought I would share this incredible time lapse video by Andrew Curtis, a local photographer. Enjoy!
